Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

Ensures all approved IT products and services are purchased under cost-effective and risk-averse contracts, independently. Coordinates all opportunities for contracting new and existing IT equipment, supplies, and services. Evaluate products and vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages existing contracts and supplier relations for areas and products.

• Negotiates contracts for continued cost savings, risk avoidance, and reliability.

• Assists in financial analysis and needs assessment for purchases and products to include consideration related to total cost impact.

• Develops business plans related to cost containment and resource allocation initiatives.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

• Purchasing (Advanced): Understands the concepts behind supplier relations and supply chain management. Handles supplier-related activities, requests for pricing, and purchases of goods and services while ensuring appropriate costs, risk avoidance, schedules, quality, deliveries, terms, and conditions.

• Contract Negotiations (Intermediate): Demonstrates an understanding of negotiating skills such as building trust, gaining commitment, managing the opposition, and maintaining goodwill. Demonstrates an understanding of provisions and agreements (T's & C's) contained in contracts. Realizes the need for mutual concessions and accommodations and negotiates with others for resources, actions, or buy-in to maximize collaborative outcomes. Attention to detail and analytical thinking to identify risks, opportunities, and loopholes in contracts.

• Communication (Advanced): Clearly, effectively, and respectfully communicate to employees or customers.

• Organizational and Time Management (Advanced): Ability to handle multiple contracts and meet strict deadlines.

• Sourcing (Intermediate): Discovering qualified candidates through a network of talent.
