VUMC TempForce was created to connect temporary talent to all areas of the Medical Center. departments across the Medical Center. TempForce has opportunities for experienced Cooks for the hours of 10am until 7pm.

In this role you will be responsible for preparing meals for patients following assigned standardized recipes. You will also be responsible for sanitation and safety of your work area.

Job Summary :

Prepares food for patients and/or cafeteria customers following assigned production schedule and standardized recipes. Maintains sanitation and safety of work area.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintains and insures foodsafety.

  • Maintains safe workenvironment.

  • Uses approved cooking methodsto prepare quality foods for patients/retail to achieve customersatisfaction.

  • Knows how to verify and clarifythe needs and expectations of customers. Responds quickly and efficientlyto customer service requests.

  • Participates in and conductsmeetings with customers.

  • Keeps customers informed ofstatus via standard reporting techniques.

  • Meets the continuing serviceneeds of a customer group, including requests for changes in workcontent.

  • Responds to customers with anappropriate level of urgency, energy, persistence and tenacity.

FDA/USDARegulations

Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate FDA and or USDA regulations in practical applications of moderate difficulty.

Food Preparation

Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate food preparation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.

Food Replenishment

Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate food replenishment in practical applications of moderate difficulty.

HOURS: 10am-7pm and availabilityto work every other weekend

  • QUALIFICATIONS: 1-3 years of cooking experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and 1 year relevant experience
